Gladly the Cross-Eyed Bear

My Grandfather used to tell of the little girl who named her stuffed teddy bear "Gladly." When asked why, she said that it was from Sunday School... when they sang the hymn "Gladly my cross-eyed bear." (BTW, this is the title of one of the prolific author Ed McBain's books.)
